Who we are
SL Church ("we") is the data controller for personal data collected through this website.
What we collect
When you write to the pastor we store your name, email address, the subject and the content of your messages, and the replies sent to you. We also keep technical security records (such as IP address for rate limiting) for a short period.
Why we use it (lawful basis)
We use this information to answer you and continue the conversation you started (legitimate interests and, where relevant, your explicit consent for information about religious belief, UK GDPR Article 9(2)(a) and (d)).
Who can see it
Only the pastor and church staff who have been given permission to handle messages. Messages are never published, indexed by search engines or used for advertising. Email delivery is handled by our email provider acting as a processor.
How long we keep it
Conversations are kept while they are useful for pastoral care and are deleted on request or after a period set by the church.
Your rights
You can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your data, object to processing or withdraw consent by writing to us through the website. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
